This past Wednesday we had our last meeting of October, right before Halloween! Rajat served as Toastmaster, and he did a great job of keeping things running smoothly. We heard prepared speeches from Jack L, Deima, and Keong. Jack took on the challenge of explaining a technical topic through analogy and Keong spoke to us about instilling a sense of purpose in his children. Deima won the award of Best Speaker for her speech about mindfulness.
The word of the day was “eerily,” and Kory’s table topics section honored it perfectly. He asked us to brainstorm scary stories based on the 90s TV show “Are You Afraid of the Dark?”, but with a modern twist. Bob won the prize for his tale of the haunted Apple Store in Central Park.
Our meeting concluded with evaluations from me (other Jack), Carey, and Wendy. I won Best Evaluator for my thoughts on Jack L’s speech. See you all next week!
