We are glad to welcome three new members into our club! Clara, David, and Stephanie were inducted at our February 5 meeting. Congratulations to you all, and we wish you best of luck in your Toastmasters journey.
Sharan was our Toastmaster for the evening and introduced Wendy and Chetan during our prepared speeches section. Wendy delivered a speech from the Innovative Planning pathway on a topic she researched – Angkor Wat. Chetan treated us to his first prepared speech since joining the club, dubbed the icebreaker, in which he told us about his hunger for exploration. Chetan also won the ribbon for Best Speaker, an impressive accomplishment!
Jack L was our Table Topics leader, and he prompted members to come up with impromptu answers to questions a small child might ask their parent. Katie, a guest at the meeting, won the award for telling us why the neighbor’s kids have nicer toys.
In our evaluation section, we heard two members deliver spoken evaluations of the prepared speeches. Michael spoke about Wendy’s speech, and Stephanie won the ribbon for her evaluation of Chetan’s icebreaker.
Don’t forget there is still time to register for the club speech contest, coming up on February 26. Talk to Kory or any of the other officers for more information on how to sign up. All club members are invited to join our Tall Tales contest, and experienced members can try out for the International Speech contest.
